Butterfly house in macro

I thought I would take a little break from food and flowers for a bit and we visited the Melbourne Zoo’s butterfly house, perfect spot to break out the macro lens and ring light. Sadly some of the butterflies are a bit worse for wear, they ask everyone not to touch…but kids will be kids (big and small), but still, nature is magnificent and a great subject for macro.

I used my ring light, as it is fairly dark in there, as far as photography goes. I didn’t use the flash part, as I was unsure if that would affect the butterflies, just used the light.
