Croissants with Nutella and strawberries
I sometimes feel that croissants are more of a dessert than a breakfast, but they always seem to be consumed in the mornings, if not breakfast then brunch! You can forgo the Nutella and use fresh jam or conserve if you prefer.
I will admit, that I did not make my croissants from scratch, but feel free to try if you wish too. I did purchase good quality, buttery flakey croissants. I then lightly toasted in the oven to warm them, but not overcook or burn them, a few minutes is more than enough. Although with a good fresh croissant, there is no need to heat them.
I sliced mine open and then spread Nutella and filled with sliced fresh strawberries, you could also use creme fraiche or whipped cream for serving, as well as additional fresh strawberries. And don’t forget the light dusting of icing sugar over the top.
